By the end of 2009 Sibirtelecom will install Russian equipment at the total cost of over 22 mln rubles.  These investments will be used for implementing projects of connection and provision of telecommunication services in the Priangarye rural areas.  

In 46 settlements of the region, Sibirtelecom will replace out-of-date automatic exchanges with the total capacity of 8,000 numbers, which is about 20% of the total installed capacity of rural telephony. It uses equipment produced by Russian Companies: Eltex Enterprise LLC, Intercross LLC, YuryevPolsky Plant Promsvyaz CJSC, thus supporting the domestic telecommunication industry.”   

In early November of the current year, almost 4.5 thousand subscribers from 17 settlements of the Irkutsk region gained an access to services being provided by the state-of-the-art digital automatic exchanges.

“Domestic equipment presented its better side,” said Oleg Shirshov, Director of Irkutsk branch of Sibirtelcom OJSC. “The first Russian digital exchanges were installed on our networks in Irkutsk in 1998. Among the advantages of our equipment are competitive prices and operational service, it is highly competitive with international counterparts in quality.”

To implement these projects, Eltex supplied the state-of-the-art MC-240 digital automatic exchanges to the Irkutsk region. Besides, the Company’s networks in the Irkutsk region will be equipped with power plants produced by YuryevPolsky Plant Promsvyaz CJSC, and cross equipment made by Intercross LLC will be used.

In 2008-2009 the Company invested totally over 50 mln in purchasing and installing the Russian equipment in the Irkutsk region.
