The modern communication world cannot be imagined without mobile communication being very convenient and popular means of communication. JSC «Sibirtelecom» provides the mobile telecommunication services together with its associated mobile operators – CJSC«Bailkalwestcom», CJSC «Eniseytelecom» and CJSC «STEK GSM» and their development is one of the core business activities of JSC «Sibirtelecom». In spite of escalation of the competition at the market of mobile communication, JSC “Sibirtelecom” is ranked 3rd among the major mobile operator in the Siberian Federal District and 7th mobile operator in Russia. The company provides mobile communication services of 2 standards: GSM-900/1800 and IMT-MC-450 (CDMA 2000 1Õ) under Wellcom trade. In Irkutsk and Kemerovo Regions the company launched EDGE technologies. Launch of EDGE in the Republic of Burjatiya, Krasnoyarsk and Altay Territory is next in turn. GSM Thanks to digital encoding GSM-900/1800 standard used by JSC «Sibirtelecom» and its associated companies is featured by noninterference and high privacy. Moreover unlike other standards, GSM-900/1800 provides a wide range of VAS to be accessed via subscriber’s mobile handset. If compared with the other standards, the key advantage of GSM-900/1800 is the wider choice of countries where international automated roaming is available. Wellcom In CDMA 2000 1x network a number of business solutions of “remote office” class are provided for subscribers’ convenience. For instance, this standard enables the user to exchange information using handset and PC, laptop or pda; send and receive messages via email or browse web. The definite advantages of the next generation network are clear-sounding speech, lack of extraneous noise, and high privacy of calls. The embedded speech-coding algorithm provides for the total protection from unauthorized access and calls interception. Also the users prefer this standard if consider factors of environmental friendliness and safety of the CDMA –handsets. If compared with the handsets supporting other mobile communication standards, CDMA handsets radiated power is much less. E.g. peak radiated power of the recent GSM handsets is about 1,0 Wt whilst the same indicator of CDMA handsets is equal to 0,2 Wt. Mobile radio communication |
